We have been sick. All week. RSV has spared no one in this family. We wore pjs or comfy clothes every single day. We watched Frozen at least 6 times in the past 7 days and have watched more Dragon Tales than I care to admit. We have went through 4 boxes of kleenex. We ran out of ibuprofen and tylenol and cough medicine and cold medicine and Vicks vaporless inserts and congaplex.
It has been a week. I can’t say it was a bad week but it was a sick week. And poor little Garrison had his birthday interrupted with coughing and sneezing and fevers and a doctor’s appointment for one sick little girl. But he took it like a champ and ate the cupcake I picked up for him at the store like it was gold (well, if one ate gold that is).
I am thankful for Fridays, The Lost Cuban, Hy-Vee bakery, $.99 cupcakes, birthdays whether they get the glam that they deserve, movies, and for the little boy who has brought our family a joy that only children can bring. We celebrate the life God has given us whether healthy or hacking because ALL children are a blessing.
“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.” Psalm 127:3
“When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world.” John 16:21
